Little Circles

This policy describes how Little Circles collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies to caregivers and families who use the Little Circles application (iOS, Android, and web) and associated backend services.

1. Overview

Little Circles is a playdate coordination application for caregivers and families. We process data with attention to privacy by design, including COPPA-adjacent considerations for children’s data and GDPR/CCPA rights for caregivers.

2. Information we collect

We collect information necessary to provide and secure the service, including:

• Caregiver account data: Name, email, phone number (for SMS OTP verification), identity provider, and optional profile photo.
• Household and scheduling data: Address (when required), availability, RSVPs, and playdate details.
• Children’s data: Provided by caregivers with explicit consent; minimized to what is needed for playdate coordination.
• Consent records: Timestamped logs of age confirmation and consent events.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to provide playdate coordination, verify caregiver identity and age (18+), and send SMS one-time passcodes (OTP) for phone verification and transactional playdate reminder texts (when enabled in notification settings). We use push and email for invites and schedule changes where you enable those channels. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your data for advertising.

4. Mobile numbers and SMS

When you provide your mobile phone number and check the SMS consent box during onboarding, we use it to deliver one-time verification codes and, if you enable SMS reminders, transactional playdate reminder texts through AWS End User Messaging SMS.

We do not share your mobile phone number, SMS consent, or verification status with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. We do not send promotional or marketing SMS. Your number may be processed by our infrastructure sub-processors (e.g., AWS) solely to deliver verification messages on our behalf under contractual data-protection terms.

5. Information sharing

We share data within the app according to your settings (e.g., address share scope). We use AWS and other sub-processors under Data Processing Agreements. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect user safety. We do not use third-party advertising networks.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Contact privacy@littlecircles.app to exercise these rights.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and encrypted at rest. Authentication uses industry-standard practices including short-lived tokens. See our full security documentation for technical details.
